コロンビア大学日本同窓会 (CUAAJ) 主催の講演会のお知らせです。

今回は、法学者、弁護士で元最高裁判所判事の園部逸夫氏をお迎えし、「皇室法に関する最近の問題」と題して、講演会を開催いたします。
昨年2017年12月1日、皇室会議は天皇陛下の退位を来年2019年4月30日とする意見を決定しました。これによって来年5月1日に皇太子様が新天皇に即位され、同日から新元号になることとなりました。
園部氏は、元最高裁判事であり、2012年「皇室典範に関する有識者会議」の座長代理を務め、2016年「天皇の公務の負担軽減等に関する有識者会議」及び2018年「天皇陛下の御退位及び皇太子殿下の御即位に伴う式典準備委員会」のヒアリング対象者である、皇室制度に関する第一人者です。
当 コロンビア大学日本同窓会に於きまして、園部氏は第6代会長（2004年～2008年）を務め、現在は顧問として同窓会の運営を指導して頂いています。
来年に予定される天皇陛下の退位と新天皇の即位の背景について理解を含める大変貴重な機会です。多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

講演者のプロフィール
元最高裁判所判事　園部　逸夫（そのべ　いつお）
1929年生まれ。
1954年 京都大学法学部卒業。同助教授。コロンビア大学法科大学院留学後1967年 京都大学法学博士。
東京地裁・東京高裁・前橋地裁（部総括）判事、最高裁上席調査官、東京地裁（部総括）判事、筑波大学教授、成蹊大学教授を経て、
1989年 最高裁判所判事(～1999年)。1995年 皇室会議議員(～1999年)。
2001年外務省参与（監察査察担当）。同年 叙勲 (勲一等瑞宝章)。
（著書）「皇室法概論―皇室制度の法理と運用 （復刻版）」（第一法規出版）、「最高裁判所十年 -- 私の見たこと考えたこと」(有斐閣) など多数
