Open to the entire intercollegiate community and friends, this event brings together alumni, students, founders, investors, and technologists from across Japan's academic and startup ecosystems. The evening will feature a lightning talk showcase of the Japan-based semifinalist startups selected for the 2025 Asia Technology Entrepreneurship Conference (ATEC), followed by open networking over drinks and light bites.
Whether you're exploring the startup world, working in tech, or simply curious about Japan's evolving innovation landscape, Fab Friday! is your chance to meet kindred spirits and spark new ideas.

Meet the three ATEC 2025 semifinalists representing Japan:
PURMX Therapeutics
A biotech startup originating from Hiroshima University, PURMX specializes in microRNA-based therapeutics. Their proprietary RNA screening platform powers innovative treatments for cancers like malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). By harnessing naturally occurring microRNAs, PURMX aims to overcome cancer cell immortality, recurrence, and drug resistance-while improving patient quality of life.
Peach Technology
Founded by Kaoru Kaganoi (ex-McKinsey) and Zachary Petroni (ex-SafeBoda), Peach Technology is a Kenyan- Japanese used-car marketplace launched in 2020. It combines a Marketplace 3.0 model with proprietary tools like a smart-engine loT inspection device, automated workflows, and mobile/web platforms. With over 400 vehicles sold and $200K+ in monthly GMV as of mid-2023, Peach recently closed an $11 M Series A to fuel its East African expansion.
Implicit Al
Founded by an MIT graduate and entrepreneur from Mongolia, Implicit Al develops governance tools to manage risks tied to generative Al adoption-particularly in Japan's uniquely cautious regulatory environment. Their Private Benchmarking System (PBS) enables companies to safely test Al models on private, domain-specific datasets, supporting more transparent and consensus-aligned Al integration.
