Keijuro "K.J." Matsui, CC'09

Profile (Japanese): https://www.alvark-tokyo.jp/roster/keijuro_matsui.html

KJ was the first Japanese native basketball player in NCAA Division I history, studying economics at Columbia College from 2005 – 2009. He also played in the 2005 Nike Hoop Summit for the World Select Team, being only the second Japanese native to do so. At the time, he was sometimes called the "Third Matsui" of NY, after Hideki Matsui (Yankees) and Kazuo "Kaz" Matsui (Mets). He has been featured in the New York Times and many Japanese newspapers. After graduating from Columbia, he began playing basketball professionally in Japan, and he was a part of the Japanese National Team in the FIBA ASIA tournament in '11, '13, '15, and '16.

We hope that you can join us in cheering on him and his team. We will also get the chance to have dinner with KJ after the game at a nearby restaurant (TBD). We expect this to be a fun event for all ages, so please consider inviting your family along!
